  12. Sometimes after starting Windows the following transpires:

  14. I use the Internet,  then after disconnecting my flatmate uses the phone. 
  15. I have to disconnect for him to use the phone. After he's finished with 
  16. the phone I try to use the modem from Windows again but Windows can't 
  17. detect a modem!?!? Sometimes I got to switch the modem Off and back On 
  18. again. Sometimes I even have to restart Windows. Also if I start Windows 
  19. with the modem On I need to switch it off and on again after Windows has 
  20. started. If I leave the modem off until Windows is running and then turn 
  21. it on it works. It is the U.S. version of the US Robotics 28800. The dip 
  22. switches are set identical to the one at work (works OK) i.e.  --_-_--_

  24. Weeeeird huh!?!?!?!?!?

  26. Maybe there is a Windows utility somewhere that can be used to reset the 
  27. com port without switching Windows off. BTW the telephone is plugged into 
  28. the modem phone socket so I don't have to unplug things.
